Castelan Dog Boarding Kennels and Cattery is one of the longest running pet boarding facility in Brisbane. Established in 1968, Lance and Helen Young took over the business in 1984, and have been owner operators ever since.

Helen and Lance Young – actively involved with animals for over 42 years

Helen and Lance Young resided on the premises since 1984. The ultimate animal lovers and pet owners themselves, Lance and Helen have spent their careers around animals. Over the last 42 years, they have been involved in breeding, obedience training and showing.

Lance and Helen’s passion is providing the ultimate care for their dog and cat boarders. As animal lovers, they understand how difficult it is to leave a pet while going on holidays. As active, long term members of the Association of Pet Boarding & Grooming, Queensland, they ensure all staff operate in accordance with the association’s Code of Ethics. The focus is on providing the highest standards in cat and dog boarding in Brisbane.

We spend time getting to know your dog or cat

Each of the dogs and cats that board with us is different. All animals have different temperaments and varying diets, while some have medical requirements. Our staff members spend time speaking to pet owners to gain an understanding of their pet. This is essential if we’re going to provide the very best in care for our cat and dog boarders. We collect all your contact details, in case we need to speak to you at some point, and we note down all special requirements.

Castelan Kennels and Cattery is located in Chandler, on Brisbane’s Southside. We are close to the Gateway Motorway, so it’s easy to drop your dogs and cats off on the way to the Gold or Sunshine Coasts. We’re also close to the Brisbane Airport, and offer a pet pick up service to and from the airport.

Our pets come from across Brisbane…

While we have a lot of dogs and cats boarding with us from families who live on the Southside, many of our dogs and cats come across from the Northside via the Gateway Bridge, Brisbane city and further afield. There’s nothing like the peace of mind knowing your pet is well loved and looked after while you’re on holidays!
